What is PinkJack?
PinkJack is the pink Union Jack, a flag created in Britain as a symbol of gay pride. The blue of the Union Jack is replaced with pink, a nod to the pink triangle once used to persecute homosexual men and reclaimed here as a mark of pride instead. It was first flown at Pride London in the late 1990s and has been carried at Pride marches ever since.
You may have seen a similarly coloured flag used elsewhere recently for very different purposes. PinkJack has represented British gay pride since the 1990s and has no connection to any other group using pink, white and red together.
